Job Purpose As a PR and Communications Manager, you will join our Marketing team and be responsible for the development and management of Alef's public image and reputation in owned and earned channels. You will be involved in shaping the marketing communications strategy and output on a local and international level, shaping Alef's image in the media with the support of a PR agency.

You will be responsible for communicating key messages to defined target audiences to establish goodwill and understanding between Alef Education and its stakeholders. This includes generating positive coverage in the media and ensuring all written content produced is in line with our communications strategy, brand guidelines, and tone of voice.

You will act as the brand custodian, responsible for protecting the Alefs brand externally, consulting on reputational risks associated with business activity.
Key Responsibilities
PR & Communications
to support the advancement and delivery of the Alef's communications, media relations, public relations and content strategy.
  • Oversees and produces, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print promotional and communication materials for the organization and own the day-to-day relationships with key media across the region.
  • Develop and deliver a range of proactive and reactive communications campaigns to support the broader business strategy across channels, including press releases, thought leadership, media relations, social media etc.
  • Plans, prepares, and distributes original promotional content such as articles, speeches, write-ups, op-eds, news and press releases, email, copywriting, blog and social media posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization.
  • Ensures that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure external communications is aligned to the broader brand and marketing strategy and brand or product guidelines.
  • Successfully manage complex, communications challenges.
  • Manage communications and PR agencies, oversee media and content monitoring, create reports and generate new ideas for continuous improvement
  • Manages all interview opportunities for the company from end to end evaluate opportunity, identify right spokesperson, draft and prepare talking points, arrange for date and time and venue with interviewer, gather interview coverage
PR Awards
  • Responsible for researching, managing and growing relationships with key award programs and institutes
  • Responsible for applying and securing nominations at all relevant award events and participations
  • Collaborate with other internal stakeholders to participate in ongoing award programs nominations and coordinating with the awards committee for all guidelines.
  • Attend and nominate relevant employees to attend awards ceremony
  • Prepare all PR and social media posts following any won awards to celebrate the win and spread awareness around it
  • Ensure all collateral, such as website and email signatures, are updated with the relevant and latest won awards
  • Researches, registers and presents event to management such as; conferences and exhibitions, locally and internationally, for the company to participate it or attend
  • Identify relevant and effective sponsorship opportunities at events
  • Liaise with marketing team to develop marketing plans for event programs and individual events, conferences, exhibitions both locally and internationally
  • Procure event set up agencies/specialist to assist in booth, stand, space design and implementation
  • Liaise with internal team and/or outsourced specialist on event marketing collateral
  • Prepares media and PR plan around the event with PR agency
  • Arranges for photography/videography and press coverage for special events
  • Report on event success and attendance and any MQLs (marketing qualified leads) that resulted out of it

Education, Experience and Required Skills Education
  • Bachelor degree in PR and/Communication (Marketing, Business Management, Media)
  • Corporate Communications experience, either in-house or agency, including media relations and crisis communications.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing successful PR strategies, events, and campaigns for b2b and b2c
  • Experience coordinating PR campaigns and working cross-functionally with other teams
  • Experience in higher education/ed-tech or government PR is appealing but not crucial
  • demonstrated history of using data and insights to power thought leadership and media conversations
  • Working for leading tech companies and top-tier PR firms
  • Experience coordinating launches with other MENA markets, international markets are an added plus

  • Strong relationships with stakeholders within the media industry with an ability to build a media relations strategy and contact book.
  • Excellent content creating skills with the ability to curate across various formats such as thought leadership, press releases, podcasts etc.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and can prioritize the time accordingly
  • Exceptional grasp of English and Arabic, both written and spoken
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
